Race-pace.net blog

A quick plug for a twitter associate, Phil Jones, who has relaunched his blog at race-pace.net. Phil is a big fan of Sir Chris and Graeme Obree, and met them both- booking Obree for public speaking, and attending a business lunch with Hoy.

Questions for Sir Chris Hoy
Graeme Obree interview

Phil, like me is relatively new to the sport of cycling and has posted several useful pieces such as an introduction to bike fit and bike buying guides.

Phil has been in touch with photographer Rick Robson who has kindly made the photos on this post available. He promotes his work on his Cycle Sport Photos website. He covers sportives and charity rides, as well as pro racing. Chris Hoy said in his autobiography “photographers love the mirrored visor”, but Rick has an eye for freezing the action too, as well as capturing a bit of movement.

I foud more about Rick from the about section of cyclesportphotos.com:

Rick also holds the dubious honour of being one of the very few people to get crushed under the wheels of an HGV while riding and live to ride again. Following months of rehabilitation including learning to walk again Rick was keen to regain his strength and get back to riding. 2011 will see him tackle his first UK sportives as a rider / reporter for Cycling Weekly. The titanium pelvis is holding together nicely….

That’s quite sobering- good luck in your career Rick.
